River Front, Seclusion, Pet Friendly
The Floating "E", Long Time Gone main Cottage is a great escape for some time to another world in Morgan County, West Virginia, just two hours from the Washington DC area. The Floating "E" is situated on 15-wooded acres along 350 feet of the calm upper branch of the Potomac River in scenic, historic Paw Paw, West Virginia. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic weekend. Pets welcome too! The main cabin sleeps 4 guests and the bunk house offers additional sleeping for 6 more guest. What you won't find: television, traffic, or stress. Activities onsite and close by include fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking (the historic Paw Paw Tunnel is a mile away), reading, camping, roasting marshmallows over a bonfire, bird-watching (two bald eagles live in the trees above our section of the river), star-gazing, listening to music (satellite radio and iPad ready sound system) and reconnecting.
The main cottage accommodates 4 guests comfortably and features all living accommodations such as a fully stocked kitchen, dining area, living room with a fireplace and full bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub. The cabin does not have air conditioning, but we find that the ceiling fans and open windows keep things cool on even the hottest days by the river-side.
There is also a bunk house! The Bunkhouse offers plenty of room for your extra guests or a perfect place for the kids to camp out! The bunk house offers sleeping for an additional 6 guests, 3 beds with pillows and comforters (sheet sets/towels are not provided in the bunkhouse) with an outhouse and outdoor shower offered in the summer! (Indoor plumbing is provided in the main house).
